AI Policy Council Leader Role Overview
Leader of the AI Policy Council

The Leader of the AI Policy Council plays a vital role in guiding the Council’s work to address the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence (AI) within the business valuation profession.
Appointed by BVIUK’s Executive Management (EM) for a two-year term, the Leader is responsible for overseeing the Council’s activities and ensuring its contributions align with BVIUK’s strategic objectives and core values.

As a key figure within BVIUK’s governance structure, the Leader provides direction and facilitates collaboration among Council members to deliver meaningful insights and recommendations on AI’s impact on professional valuation practices.
The Leader’s responsibilities include supervising the Council’s work, encouraging innovative thinking, and fostering discussions that support the development of guidelines and best practices for the effective and ethical use of AI in business valuation.

The Leader works closely with the Future Directions in Business Valuation Board (FDiBVB) to ensure the AI Policy Council’s initiatives are aligned with the broader vision of BVIUK. By maintaining open communication with Executive Management and Council members, the Leader ensures transparency and accountability in the Council’s efforts.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Leader prepares an annual report on the Council’s activities and achievements, which is published in BVIUK’s journal, The Valuer. This report provides insights into the Council’s contributions to advancing knowledge and best practices in AI within the valuation profession.

The role of Leader requires a visionary mindset, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of AI’s potential to transform the business valuation landscape. The Leader’s work is integral to positioning BVIUK as a global thought leader on the application of AI in valuation, supporting members in navigating the complexities of this rapidly evolving field.
