Josh Shilts: Priceless Assets: Harnessing the power of Human Capital.

Human Capital is an asset that contributes to the long term success of a business.  However, many valuation methods focus on short term financial outcomes which may not adequately capture the value of long term investments in Human Capital development. In his talk, Josh will be discussing whether we should view Human Capital as an asset to invest in or as an expense to manage. Josh will deal with the Market demand for human capital information via Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures and will talk about the challenges of creating a Key Performance Indicator for the value creation of Human Capital. This subset of ESG is an extremely topical subject area and there is still much work to be done around the mechanisms  by which “Human Capital” and “business valuation” interrelate with one another.  Josh’s talk will provide us with some of the most important answers to a range of the most pertinent questions around the valuation of Human Capital.
